Default Audi 80 Cab roof problem

Good morning everyone , i was hoping some one could help with a problem on my 95 2.6 Audi 80 Cab.
The roof no longer folds away correctly , it gets to the point where it is about half way , the body panel lifts but then the roof will not stow away into the body.
Has anyone experienced something similar ,

Any help will be grateful

Thanks

Hi Montana,
I have an 97 Audi cab that also had this fault.
After several garage visits still had fault ( sorry ,we are talking about power hood yes ?) anyway ,while i had time on my hands delv in i did !
Fault was..............on the right hand side where all the wiring loom cables come from the boot switches etc, a broken cable . The loom has to bend when the lid shuts. It was not an abvious fault as the outer sleve had not broken.
To confirm the fault VERY CAREFULLY you need somebody to pop the boot (do not open at this point)
Take power hood as far as will go on electrics , then get helper to raise lid of boot (I SAY CAREFUL AGAIN as the boot is so designed that they will catch each other )
ON my one the motor kicked in again proving cable to boot lid sensor.
The lid sensor is also an option ,and is on left side of lid ,lower corner with lid up.
hope this gives you a clue , it took me about a month of my Mrs moaning to motivate me !
Good luck,
Stiglet
