Car wont start, as if its 'immobilised'. Either fuel pump is broke or fuel cut off valve is activating. On the dash an orange light flashes with the image of a car with a key under it. I don't have owners manual so don't know what it means, I'm assuming it's an immobiliser light, but I'm not even sure if it has a standard fitted immobiliser or how to use it if it does !!!

if your car is equiped with a chip in your key that might be the problem. are you using a copy of the original key? the chip on your key is access wirelessly by your car. if you try to start it and your key doesnt have the chip the car will not turn on no matter what...

OK thanks for reply, the key I have doesnt look like it has a chip, just a standard flat old style key which has a battery to operate the little torch light. Does this battery effect the key and immobiliser? Engine starts instantly until you release the key back after starting, which is obviously the immobiliser cutting the ignition. However my central door locking is knackered too, cant lock the drivers door at all, maybe this is activating the immobiliser. I assume you arm and disarm the immobiliser with the key in the drivers door? BLOODY CARS, please help im driving round in a £30 fiesta, while my Audi is just sat there. If anyone can explain how to operate the immobiliser I'd be very grateful.
