Water Loss Problems

AUDI 80 2.0L 16V LOOSING WATER FROM HEADER TANK,WHITE SMOKE FROM EXHAUST POSSIBLY HEAD GASKET DON,T REALLY KNOW.I HAVE'NT THRASHED IT FOR AGES,NO SIGNS OF OVERHEATING BEFORE I NOTICED THE PROBLEM,ANY IDEAS ON DIAGNOSING MY PROBLEM.

GREATFULL FOR ANY IDEAS

That is all the signs of a Blown Head Gasket. A head retorque usually is a decent temporary fix (but thats all it is, temporary). I would replace it if at all possible.
