Audi 80 2.8 cabriolet cam belt?

Please could someone tell me when the cam belt or cam chain needs replacing. The car is 1998 2.8 cabriolet with 75,000 miles. I've spoken to two Audi dealers and neither can tell me.

I have had both a 1.8 and now a 2.6, 80 cabriolet, both have had their timing belts and tensionor's changed at 60,000 mile intervals

Hi, my understanding is that both the 2.6 and 2.8, dont need the timing belt changed until 80,000 miles! (scary stuff I know), however it is also my understanding that on the 2.8, they recommend that the water pump is changed at the same time. This seems to be a common question, and every person seems to have a different answer. I think the safest thing to do would be to change it around 60,000! Hope this doesn't muddy the waters too much!
