Lightbulb Headlight failure

My main driving headlights have failed. I've checked the bulbs and they are fine. The lowerbeam headlights are operational (but they obviously don't offer to much light at night!). Perplexing that my highbeams also seem to work fine!

Any ideas as to a simple fix for this?

Could it be a switch on the steering column or somthing more troublesome?

Thanks.

Ben in Australia.

Thanks mate. Seemed I required a whole new switch - pricey part as the whole switch is connected to the rod. So got a shiny new indicator switch, lights etc! Works fine but my bank balance hurt briefly!

Cheers.
