Audi 80 2.0E mods

Hi, i'm new to this forum. I've got an M reg audi 80 2.0E, its got the 8 valve 115bhp i think and i'd like to make it a bit quicker, im just wondering what scope there is for modifications? Will the 16 valve head go on, or what can i do for an engine transplant? I may have to rebuild the engine otherwise as it has done 170 thausand miles and burns a bit of oil, but its ok for now. Its the 2WD by the way.

hey walk aw i have the same car with the same problem.
i want to know if, and how easy it would be to transfer the 8v for a 16v.
i looked into having the engine rebuilt as a 8v and for a full rebuild and port and polish i wouldnt get much change out of £1500.
the port and polish would probably give me about 15-20 extra brake( at a guess) any more info on this would be good .
