Default What are the Coupe model differences? Engine specifications etc...

Hey guys,

I currently drive a VW Scirocco but I want something more reliable, and Im considering an Audi 80 Coupe... but was after any advice that you lot can give?
Iv been looking at the 2.0, 2.2E and 2.3E models, as I dont think I will be able to insure anything other than those.
Here are a few random questions I have:

How reliable do you find the Coupe?
Iv heard the 2.3 is the better engine of the three I have been looking at.. is that because of performance or reliability, or both?
What are the main problem areas to check when viewing a Coupe.
What differences are there between the styles? All I know is that there is an E model, and a Quattro model.
Were any Coupes fitted with air con at the factory?
What sort of MPG should I expect from a 2.0 to 2.3 engine?

Sorry about all the random questions...

Thanks for your help,
Mabbo

How reliable do you find the Coupe? VERY!!

Ive heard the 2.3 is the better engine of the three I have been looking at.. is that

because of performance or reliability, or both? Both

What are the main problem areas to check when viewing a Coupe? Only thing I have really had probs with is Corroded(sp) rear builb holders as water can leak into the boot.

What differences are there between the styles? All I know is that there is an E model, and a Quattro model! No difference in styles, quattro is basicaly 4 wheel drive with a diff switch which locks all 4 wheels!

Were any Coupes fitted with air con at the factory? Yes.

What sort of MPG should I expect from a 2.0 to 2.3 engine? I have a 2.3 and with a tenner I can get 60 miles out of it!

Hope this helps mate

Default .

Hi!

I can get 400 miles from £50 of normal unleaded.

Not bad as mines a 2.6 V6 Not as expensive to insure as you might think.

And yes matey,very reliable

I would say that its an idea to check when the front suspension top mounts were last changed.Coupes eat these for breakfast! If you drive more laid back as I tend to,you can get 2-3 yrs from a set of green ones @ £20.
