Default Idle & speedo

Fit like all??
Just got an Audi Coupe 2.0 16v (ace engine) and i love it but i am having problems with the idle and speedo.

When driving and car is up to temperature the revs will drop right off and stall at junctions when clutch is down.
That same day it started the speedo stopped working.

Thanks in advance for any help which is appreciated

coolant temperature sensor was at fault.
it was replaced 3 year ago so i took it out to have a look and when i refitted it i got an extra half turn when tightening.
Problem solved and the speedo
