quattro conversion?

hello people. i have a mint condition audi 80 tdi on an M-plate and have recentely aquired a written off 2.8 V6 quattro 80. the bodywork is not worth salvaging but it starts and runs fine. my question is, is it possible to transplant the quattro engine and running gear to my front wheel drive tdi. i want a v6 quattro but cant bring myself to sell the tdi as its in such good condition. my main concern is are the shells any different in turn stopping me converting it to 4-wheel drive?
