Default Cabriolet 1995 V6 2.6 - Oil light lighting up!!

Hi - new member here, I'm hoping somebody can help me, I've got a Cabriolet (80) 1995 - 2.6 Trouble is, when I'm driving and especially under hard acceleration, the red oil light comes on along with the annoying beep. I've checked the oil pressure - looks fine and the oil level is good too.

I read somewhere that this is a known problem and is due to a vacuum pipe being too small or something, but I can't find this information anywhere now.

Does anybody have any informaion on this please or possibly a link to a web site

Thanks in advance.

I have had the exact problem myself, it's dead easy to fix. There my be upto 2 oil pressure switches/sensors. One on the cylinderhead, and proberbly one somewhere on the housing that the oil filter screws on to. Disconnect the cables going to them. Unbolt them from the head/housing, and clean them out with some sort of aerosol solvent (Brake cleaner is ideal) The old oil/gunge will come out of the inside and bobs your uncle. Do not get them mixed up as one is a low pressure sensor qand the other high. This should fix the problem. Please3 email me if the problem persists turbodiesel.head@ntlworld.com All the best David
