Where Is The Air Filter?

Hello
Can you tell me where to find the air filter on a 88 Audi 90 Quattro 5 cyl???

The air filter should be under the airflow meter/fuel distributor on the right hand side of the engine bay (right hand side of the car). This is the thing with all of the braided pipes coming out of it that go to the injectors on the head. It is a bit awkward to get to on account of all the pipework.
