Hey all,

I put a check engine lamp in the dash and used the fuse spot on the fuel pump relay to get codes out. It read out the Hal unit and the knock sensor were bad. I replaced both. It took me a while to get it running and now it idles nice, but has no power and pings like crazy. I am guessing it is out of time, but when I try to adjust the timing, with the car running, to the line on the flywheel, the car will not run. Could the belt be off?! It appears to be in time, with the mark on the crank, mark on the flywheel, mark on the cam gear all matching up, and I put the distrubutor in so it is at the right spot too.

It idles nicely, but if you hit the throttle hard it will start pinging and eventually pick up. While driving it though, it has no power. It all seems like the timing is off, but maybe I just don't know what I am talking about. Also, it now reads that the collant temp sensor is faulty. I don't see how this could be causing all my trouble, but I am getting another one.

Hope someone can help or point me in the right direction... THANKS!!

MLZ
