Hey all. I tried to change tyres on my audi 80 1992 2.0 today but sadly I didnt get very far... As I was loosening the bolts on the first tyre I realized that my tool only fits 3 out of 4 bolts. The first three bolts are hexagonal, but the fourth is round. It is like this on all the tyres.

Do I need some sort of special tool for doing this?

I suspect this is a pretty easy question for you guys to answer and I would be thankful if you took the time for it

Cheers Tor

Hi, I'm not too sure, but it sounds like it could be a locking wheel nut there. Are there any holes or slots in the the round one as you look at it straight on. You would neet a special key if thats the case.

Hope it helps.

Pete.

Yeah. There are some slots. Its pretty much obvious that I need a special tool for this and it sucks that it didnt come with the car as I got it second hand. I might have to take it to a workshop to change the tyres this time

thanks pete

If you can find a friendly workshop, they'll be able to drill out the locking nut for you I think. Can you get hold of the previous owner?
Cheers,
Tom
