I've just bought an Audi 80 Sport and when driving it today a buzzer sounded and the oil warning lamp came on. Looking at the owners manual it says there could be an oil pressure problem and to go to a garage. Does this mean there is a problem with the oil pump? or could it be something else. There doen't appear to have been any loss of oil. Should I stop driving it until I get the problem sorted? Thanks for any help!

Had a similar problem where the oil lamp came on an stayed on. Got the local garage to change the oil and filter (it needed it anyway) but the lamp remained on. They said that the lamp is also linked to the main water coolant level. They topped the radiator up and hey presto the lamp went off.

Cheers Brad, last time I drove it it was fine and the pressure guage was reading between 3 and 5 bar, depending on revs. I'll change the oil and filter anyway, and check the coolant level. It may have been a dodgy connection on the oil pressure sensor thingy though.
