Juddering Action

Well hi there, i have an audi 80 1989, and lately it's been juddering. If it's cold in the morning i'll literally kangaroo down my road. And sometimes a little light comes on with the oil temp picture on it, and that flashes for a bit till it's warmed up. and it sometimes just cuts out completely if i don't give it some revs when stationary. Any suggestions??

What size engine??

I had similar problem on my 2.0 16valve it turned out to be the idle control valve, removed from car rinsed through several times with clean fuel, dryed out over night refitted no more problems.
