I have a 1993 Audi 80 that has started making and unusual noise in the rear end near the rear wheels. Initially it sounded like a noisy fuel pump or similar, but didn’t cause any problems. Recently it intermittently increases in noise. The louder noise sounds like a small hole in the exhaust, but as the noise is intermittent I doubt if this is the cause. When it is making a louder noise the motor looses power when accelerating, normally between 22K-30K rpm in 3rd gear. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks. |

it could be the rear bearings, or the brakes grinding. there's not a great deal that can go wrong at the back of the car, other than the exhaust, and if its not any of them 3, i have no idea what else it could be.
but as its been over a week since you posted the problem, you have probably sorted it. |
