Greetings to all, i'm new were and do not write english very well, sory for the bad writhing...
I have a 94 Audi 80 1.6 (DE) car and yesterday the ignition key stop working because the contacts of the (ignition slot?) were getting eroded and totaly stop working. My question is... can I fix this without changing the ignition slot? Or if it must be changed can i install a ignition start button to do the same work? How do i do this? I do not know the wirings...

I did the push button ignition on my 88 audi 90. If you go to the12volt This will give you the wiring codes you will need to know which wires need power when... Then all you really need is a switch and a push start button.

But I changed the defective part with a new one fortunatly cheaper than expected.
