Is a 2004 audi A4 reliable?

I currently own a 2 wheel drive MB SD Connect C4 and am looking for an all wheel drive car. I am considering an audi since they are more well known for their all wheel drive. I'm looking at a 2004 Audi 1.8T with 70,000 miles. I looked at some reviews and almost every person gave a bad review and said they break all the time.
So I was curious and looked up a review on my current car (which has been reliable for many years) and a lot of people gave it bad reviews as well, saying that it breaks down a lot too. But my bmw never has. So I don't know if I should believe the reviews people write or if I should just go for it and buy one that is a good deal.
