87 5000 CS Turbo Quattro no ignition
Ok is there some thing I should be checking in order to diagnose this.
Car stars and runs when cold. After the car warms up the charging system cuts out. Then the car runs on the battery for some time and if you shut it down it will not restart for maybe 1 hour. Once the car is all cooled down the car will start again and the cycle starts all over again.
Is there some circuit that can cut the alternator charging ability and then also cut out the ignition? So that when you turn the key nothing happens? No engine engagement at all.... nothing happens until the car cools again.
Does the fuel pump relay effect the ignition power? Or the disty sensors?
I know about 924s... not so much Audi 5000s.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Eric
