83 5000td

Hi everyone, I am a new member, and i'm looking to buy a 5000TD for only $300 as a project car. And it even comes with service manuals

It does need a new cylinder head, Does anyone have one for sale, or can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Oh, and does anyone know the bolt pattern for the rims? Do any rims from normal cars fit? I just need them to move the thing.

El Comandante,

I have dismantled my 83'TD and have tons of turbo diesel parts. Funny thing is, the cylinder head you are looking for, I have a factory rebuild unit installed. I was not able to put miles on my TD after the install since my trans went.

Let me know what you might be interested in. I am glad to see some people still like the 80's autobahners.

HI! Its nice to know i have a place to go for parts.... but the funny thing is, i bought it and the head had been off for 12 years!!!!! The pistons are rusted to the walls. However, I am about to buy another one with only a blown head gasket for only $500. But i would like to rebuild the rusted engine or get another one to put into a Porsche 924 and convert that to WVO

Would you happen to have an entire engine lying around that you would be willing to ship? or just components?
