Default 1991 V8 Quattro - possible purchase

Hey guys,

I'm looking at a 1991 Audi Quattro V8 5 speed (yes manual) with 122K... it is my mech's own car so he's pretty truthful with me.. this is what he had to say about it:

It's had quite a few of the ordinary culprits replaced, sensors, regulators, etc., it burns a bit of oil, but runs really strong. AC blows cold, brakes are all pretty new, new tires, E brake works, archaic stereo. Headliner is coming down with all of this heat...

He had mentioned 4500 in passing when i wasn't realyl interested in the car.. its red on beige; its in decent shape.. what do you guys think its worth?

I'm wondering if it is the 4.2. That would be an excellent combo with the manual trans. Oil burning is a big concern. I think 4K would be a more than fair offer.

Still a good combo. With the oil burning issue, it might be easier to replace the engine in the future. I'll bet the 3.6 is easier and cheaper to get ahold of. Good time to freshen up the clutch too. As long as I've had my '90 V8, I've longed for a manual transmission to further enjoy this great engine. Hit him at $3500. That's what I paid for mine with 97K miles.
