Missing My Tunes

Hi All;
Having just purchased a 1986 5000CD Quattro Avant I'm having a blast!
BUT, previous owner had diconnected the radio due to an intermittant squeal and now he can't remember the Electronic security code to activate the radio. I want to try to diagnois if the squeal was cause by the radio, amp, or a speaker so I can get the system going, but need to get the radio functioning again. The Selling Dealership cannot find it in its data base and blew me off with an attitude. Any one out there help me with this?
VIN WAUEE0443GA040319
Audi/VW AM/FM/Cassette Model No. X 034 300 D
Serial No. 102408

No radio chassis No. avail as all manuals/ PDI records not with car!! :-(

sorry to hear that. sounds like you need to go shopping for a radio

I was able to send my to a repair shop that dealt with this type of problem. I had no code for my radio when I bought the car either. They were able to re-chip it or whatever they do to give it a new code. Worked fine after.
