Just looking through this website and the retrofit cruise control unit is avalible at a good price!! Has anybody looked into fitting this, or indeed had this fitted to their car?

I'd be surprised if this was all you needed to retro-fit cruise control to an A3. What about the kit in the engine bay to control the throttle plus sensors on the clutch and brake to de-activate cruise control if you press either pedal?

Also confused why it says the kit only works with a mutli-function steering wheel - my A3 hasn't got one but does have cruise control with the same stalk as in the picture?!

Clutch and brake pedal monitoring are already there and the engine control unit takes care of throttle position, it is possible to retrofit this kit without multifunction steering wheel however you will need a replacement steering column ecu. On very latest cars the signal wire to the engine ecu is not there and has to be run seperately.

Top information badger!

I have a 2005 Sportback without multifunction steering wheel.
Just to confirm aswell as this kit and replacement column cover, i would only need the steering column ecu. Also could i walk to the audi part dept and ask for this ecu for a diy fitting?

Thanks in advance

Yes the steering ecu is available but don't forget it will all have to be coded in and asapted to the vehicle systems.

Hi have enquired with these guys on having a retro fitted cruise control to my 2008 sline.
Gareth seemed very helpful and the 224 inc fitting and remapping or coding the ecu and the price you see is the price you pay nothing more.

seems good deal and will look at having it done early dec.
