Hi,
Given both the rising cost of fuel and the increasing gap between the price of unleaded and diesel I want to learn more about running a VAG diesel on BioDiesel. (Latest record seen just this morning was 131.9 for normal Diesel at a Shell in central Bristol - dread to think how much the V-Power stuff was going for there!) Inside the fuel filler cap and in the manual it states that the engine is "not suitable for BioDiesel" but is this just some thinly disguised allegiance between Audi and one of the big oil companies or is there really a good reason for not using the stuff? Specifically my engine is a 2.0 TDI 170 BHP and is on a 2007 A3 SportBack. Thanks! |

Thanks Badger. I suspected the tolerances on this engine would be quite low given how much performance Audi have squeezed out of a 2.0 diesel unit, but thought it was worth asking!
I must admit this is the first engine I've had where I've actually noticed the difference between ordinary diesel and the "V-Power" equivalents. |
