Hi,
I had the same engine in a Seat Ibiza and the recommendation there was to change the cambelt every 60,000 miles, which I did. Although it costs ~£400 it is well worth doing as you would be facing a much higher bill if the belt fails... I now drive a 2.0 TDI A3 and will be changing it's belt at 60k too. Mike |

There is a lot of conflicting information regarding Cam (or toothed) belt change intervals within the network, service books are different to ELSA service and now online menu quotes are different again!!!
I will second what OilBurner says as within our group we have decided to standardise recommended changes to 80k miles for petrols and 60k miles for diesel.
