Default Dim back light 3 door

Has anyone suffered a dim back light problem on the 3 door model? Ive got a 2004 model. I changed the bulb in the near side light cluster becuase it went dim and eventually went out. The bulb has lasted about 3 months and now its going dim again and I assume will blow soon. Any advise would be welcome cheers Stan

hi i had a problem when i got my a3 at 1st 1 bulb went but i replaced it and havnt had any trouble since but the light isnt very bright that is emitted. the only way to overcome this i think wold be to fit led bulbs as they tend to be a brighter white light and virtually last forever. hope this helps, cheers mark

I though about LED's as it happens. I'm gonna put another normal bulb in now and if it happens again, I'll try a pair of LED jobs as thay hardly produce any load on the system so it might solve it.

Nice lookin motor by the ways! Mine's black too with the S-line kit and RS6 wheels, can't beat it!

Cheers Stan

Hi mate, my back light finally went out and I've replaced it for now with another bulb. I had a look at a car spares place for the LED option and I reckon those things are too big to get into the back of the light cluster. If this bulb packs up I might cut the hole out bigger in the back of the light. Have you seen the after market LED rear light clusters now on ebay? I can't decide if they look good or not. Cheers
