Interior lighting fault

I have got a 2004 Sportback SE with a light fault on the front interior door handle pulls. Sometimes they both work fine, sometimes only one is lit and sometimes both are not lit. The back two always work. No faults are shown when tested at the dealers. Been back to two different dealers who have fitted numerous parts but the fault still persists. Apparently Audi have not had this problem before. Anyone else had this problem that has been cured

On my previose car ( A6) they replaced the complete doorlock. Sensor for light is molded into the doorlock. do'n know if this is same on A3.
No light when car was drye (suny weather), worked fine in rain and when i had the car washed.
