Hello:
I have a concert II radio Dealer wanted like $150 for installation, so went with a street installer, $35 since I didnt had the "removal tool" to pull out the stereo, install was a very simpe task. The performance of the adapter istelf? urghhhh :-( horrible, if you dont have playslists on your ipod, it works like this: its stars from the very firts song from the letter A, you advance the tracks like a huge CD one by one or you can jump further with the right knob, the worst thing here is that the tracks appear on your radio without names! only says track 1, track 2, track 3, etc... in my case I plug the ipod and starts to play "take on me" by A-ha this means Im in the letter A area, so I turn the knob to until reaches for example the track 50 "Enter Sandman" Metallica ....ahh that means thtat Im in the letter M so.... Of I want to listen to Joyride by Roxette this means that I would have to search it until I "feel" that the letter R section is near...... URGHHH!! do all this while you are driving! in 15 minutes you will get frustrated and mad, and the switch to radio or insert a CD Ths sound is great, but the search features are horrible, No track name info in radio screen, cannot jump to spcecific songs. IMHO: I would get rid of it! Will post pics of this hope this helped |

I requested it when I bought my car, but the dealer said they sucked in just the way you describe. So, I installed a Dice Ipod interface - and it rocks!

I am looking for a solution to my casette adapter / iPod situation. The cables are ugly, and more importantly, I find that they get stuck between the hand brake and its encasement as I release it. If there is a passenger there, they're invariably sitting on these things or wondering what the devil they are. Not cool! I did not realize what a pain it is to just simply get an AUX input in my vehicle! I would prefer a generic AUX input as opposed to some sort of iPod adapter considering the fact that if my 3rd gen iPod does break anytime soon, I don't see myself shelling out the cash for another iPod. When I got it, it was the best, but now? There are other better and cheaper alternatives. 2004 A4 1.8T with a symphony II radio, by the way. |

Could anyone give me some details on exactly what to do to install an aux input for an '06 A3? I've done this on my other car (03 BMW 330I) and it was extremely simple and cost virtually nothing. It was just a matter of knowing the pinout to the aux input behind the radio and soldering a connector to a cord with a male jack to plug into any headphone device.
