Bose ?

Just about to put an order in for a new sportback and was wondering if the Bose option on the hifi was worth it.

Can anyone give advice please.

if you do not intend to uprate with after market products then i strongly recomend
bose as its a fantastic sound quality

In my 2005 A3 2.0 FSI, the Bose Sound System quality is Incredible. I totally recommend to buy your Sportback with the Bose Sound System. You wond regret it. One friend of mine told me The BMW 1 Series adds $1,800USD to the price of the car if you want it with The Bose Sound... In my experience, Audi does not do that...

i've got nothing bad to say about teh bose system.. great sound quality all around. bass is a bit lacking if you want a real "thump" but for normal listining you cat go wrong

I'm actually thinking about getting the Bose sound upgrade myself.
Does anybody know what it actually comprises of, as i havent been able to find any information about it online, or in any of the Audi brochures.

A sound system tuned to your car, amps 1,2,5 not quite sure exactly how many, a higher wattage than the standard stero output. must have upgraded speakers, sounds great.
Searched hard to find a car with it before i bought my new car, it's fantastic if you like music.

Is this something ou can buy yourself (pehaps from another cheaper suppliers than audi ?) and fit yourself with a little DIY expertise ?

You can buy can buy an evenbetter system from any car hifi shop & fit it your self but it will still cost a penny or two.
It's only amps, speakers , wires but the BOSE has been tuned to your car & factory fitted.
I think the BOSE system has more than enough bass for me.

I just got my sportback after waiting for 8 weeks and the bose system is the only disappointment. I also have a Land rover discovery with Alpine head-unit & amps and pioneer speakers & sub. It is even not comparable. Dont pay a penny for bose..
