S3 Engine whine on start up -- HELP

Hi, just registered on the site, loads of great info for me to read through,
i have a S3 1999 -- already chipped, plus it has a dump valve, great car can't fault it, one question i do have -- i'm worried about an engine whine when i first start the car -- sounds like the turbo or a jet plane -- it only happens on warm mornings never when its a cold morning, this stops when i drive away and increase the revs, i dont know if this is right or not, could some one please help me on this, thanks.

Could be the starter motor? They are known across the VAG range to get stuck and dont retreive fast enough so you get that high pitched vssssshhhhhh noise after you turn the key.. does this sound like what you have?
