Default Spare Key Programming

Hi,

I have a 2001 Audi A3 1.8SE

I am having some trouble programming a NEW spare key.

I can get the doors to lock and unlock, but when you put the key in the ignition it doesnt seem to recognise the immobliser - fires up then cuts out immediately.

Old key

4DO.837.231. a 211.01
433.92 Mhz

New Key

4D0.837.231A 14.01
433.92 Mhz

Am i using the correct key?

Can anyone suggest why i can't get this to work or help at all.

Thanks in advance

Derek

your new key needs programming to the immobiliser via the Audi online server at your centre.
