i have been told that the s3 (225) can be taken up to 330bhp and have seen figures of 400bhp of s3's that have been for sale in the past and i was wanting to know how a rough figure of 310bhp is achievable without it hurting the pocket so much as mtm are wanting 11,000 EUR for this mark although i do know a remap and a milltek exhaust system can take it up to 270-280 but what else could you do to take it that 30 bhp more ??

You can take S3's with the vvt engine (2001>) up to about 275hp with a simple remap and freer airbox and/or airfilter, such as K&N. Mine is currently with a 1.3bar remap (from 0.75bar stock), and it has easily touched that bhp figure given some runs I've done with similarly remapped WRX 2.5's.
To go above this mark, you'll need more mods, but 11k does sound like a lot. If you get the upgrade to the K04 turbo + a larger exhaust AND exaust manifold (all available thru APR, for example), it should set you towards the +300hp mark, without blowing your bank account. But since APR can be a bit expensive, try via other tuners as well. And don't forget to ensure that other engine bits, such as the diverter valve, have been upgraded... mine went after just 1.000km with the 1.3bar remap. |
