unlocking rear doors from inside

hi all me again!!
no im having troublei cant open the rear doors on my a3 the child locks are off!!
the inside handle does nothing the door opens fine from the outside.
is there a cable from the inside handle to the lock mech?
wouldnt be so bad but its both doors the central locking works fine.
it feels like they have been forced as if the child locks where on and some one has pulled the handles to hard..
any ideas?
is it a easy fix

all done it was the cable had come out of the holder.
easy fix
well pleased now.
just got to change the spark plugs now and everything is a ok.
looking forward to having a good run in it as its only been used for short jorneys.
i think it could do with a bit of a clear out on the motorway!!
