Default A3 1.6se

Hi to everyone from a newbe, i need a little help just checked the oil on my A3 1.6se and noticed like a thick off yellow like grease on the filler cap and around the top of the filler cap. any ideas and should i panic???

Also the volume control goes full blast or off if i just try to move it a little ??

i think there is a fault with the radios shouldnt worry to much mines like it.
as for the yellow grease under the cap id check if there is any on the oil dipstick and in the water tank if not just take it for a run up the motorway.
its caused by short trips and the engine dosent get hot enough to burn off the condensation.
escort cvh engine are bad for this.

I agree with mattdonut about the gunk - good axcuse for a bit of a drive!

As for the radio volume, can I assume it's a factory fitted Concert head unit? I replaced mine in the end (with a Sony that matched the dash lights perfectly!) as it would do the LOUD thing most often at about 7 o clock on a blury Monday morning! I understand it's a popular fault and you can chose to live with it, fit an aftermarket head unit or get a new Concert. There are plenty on ebay, some of which are advertiseed as not doing that loud thing!
