Do I have a Bose System? A3 1.8 SE 1998

Hi, my first post on here. I've recently bought an Audi 1.8 SE 1998, S reg. I'm trying to install my own stereo having removed the broken concert headunit.

I've looked around and the options of adaptor calbles change depending whether or not I have a Bose system/full/half amplified system. How would I tell? I can't find Bose written anywhere in the car. I have installed my JVC headunit to the only fittings that would fit (a brown one and a black one), there are alot left hanging (a red one and other colours), and I only get sound out of the front speakers. Does that indicate half amplified?

My options seem to be; Autoleads PC9-401 or PC9-404.

Also when ever I turn the car off and back on again the stereo reverts back to factory settings, as if it gets no power from the car when it should be in standby. I think if I fix the adaptor problem this one should go away too?
