Indicators Not flashing

I have a 01 A3 1.8TS just recently the indicators have stopped flashing..i have to manaually click the indicator arm on and off for them to flash? any ideas?

The hazard lights switch needs replacing.
The relays for the indicators are located in the same housing

thanks for the fast response..id like to add the hazard lights do work fine ? do you still think its the same diagnosis? is this a repair i could carry out myself?if so dont spose you no where i could find the part number and order the part?

Even if the hazards lights work, the signals are using different relays.
The procedure to remove the switch is quite simple. Just be careful when removing the facia plate.
The switch itself is available from Audi, some car parts shops or you could even try Ebay

so i dont need to swap any relays just the hazard switch?
