Hi guys need some audi help here. have got an 02 Audi A3 S3 1.8t in today with clutch pedal on floor. The concentric slave cylinder has leaked all its fluid out. Ive seen this before on 6 speed diesel PD golfs. Ive started to remove the gearbox and im struggling to remove the transfer box ive removed the mounts etc and the 4 8mm alan key headed bolts its loose but wont seperate from the gearbox. Ive done alot of freelanders with a similar 4x4 drive train setup and they split fine. Im doing this with the engine and box in the car, is this the easiet way? also will this require a new clutch master clylinder as ive done this job on 2wd golfs and had to some times fit a new master cylinder to get the system to bleed up and give a good pedal.
Thanks in advance. Chris |

remove the subframe and leave the transfer box attatched, then take the box out as normal with a bit of pulling and pushing. As for the master cylinder it should be ok but bleed a good half litre out of the slave after the box has been put back.If you stillwish to split the transfer box then you need a 6mm alen key socket about 12 inches long to unbolt the hidden bolt inside the driveshaft flangeA34-0248.png
