fuel anomaly

hi there new to this site and i would appreciate any help/info anybody has on this question, i have a 2003 s3 quattro, when i put the fuel in the digital fuel readout will say something like 250 miles till empty etc, but literally within driving say 5 miles or so the gauge can drop by 30 0r more, and continues this way, on an average 30 quids worth of fuel i am getting maybe 150 miles max out of it? is this normal, my car is remapped to 265 bhp, but even when i dont tend to put the hammer down, the fuel still goes down too fast, any help would be appreciated, tx in advance

I ave an Audi A3 2001 1.8 20v Non Turbo 125Bhp, I have the worst fuel economy I have ever known in the universe. I get around 150 -180 miles from 30 quid no matter how the ***** is driven. I have spent hundreds of pounds on filters and sensors and diagnostics. To be getting that many miles from a remapped S3 quattro your doing extremely well. Put your hand in your pocket lad, welcome to the world of heavy cars.
