A3 electric windows!

Hi there,

before I start I should warn you I'm a complete forum novice and not very technical at the best of times!

I've just bought a 1998 A3 and I've got a problem with both the electric windows (especially the drivers side). When I try and put them up they go up, down, up, down, up, right down! Then I have to force them up with my hand, they feel like they're not on the runners properly, or they're too tight or loose?! Someone said I need new regulators, but as they are quite expensive to replace and it's happening on both windows I thought (hoped!) this might be a common (cheaper!) fault!

Any help/ideas would be gratefully recieved!

Hi

Unfortunatelty you have been advised correctly, this is a common fault and can be expensive if you go to an Audi garage. These parts need to be replaced, you wont fix it otherwise
