A3 1.8T Sport 2001 EMS problem

hi all 1st time poster here..

I have a 'Y' reg A3 T sport and have no problems what so ever for 3 blissful years..

untill this week

first the Airbag light came on 2 days later the Engine management light has come on and now today the ABS light has come on?

any ideas or advice please as im not mechanicly minded..

Im guessing i need diagnostics? how much does this cost ? Do i have to go to a Audi dealer?

Have the lights being on actually caused any mechanical issues you can notice ?? ie ABS not working, engine running bad etc ?

I have read before reports of the A3 having issues with the wiring loom sometimes causing shorts etc ??? http://www.audi-forums.com/8l-forum/...esp-light.html

Hi ya TT thanks for the quick response..

Right since my last post iv had the car down the local garage and on diagnostics....


He searched the EMS problems and at first 4 faults came up but he said that most of them were old faults that had been corrected.. He cleared them all and then ran Diagnostics again and only 1 fault remained " Turbocharger Air recirculation valve mechanicle fault" any ideas what this is? how much to fix? but the long and short of it was that the EMS light has now gone?

then he looked at the ABS,EPS, warning light problem and some sort of wheel sensor was faulty this has been booked in for this friday

so only thing i need to rectify is this Turbo charger air recirculation valve? any ideas?

oh yeah in response to ya questions...nope the car is running fine no problems except for these damm warnjing lights
