need help!

hi, i just bought a31.8t sport 5 days ago. drove back from birmingham to isle of wight. everything was perfect till tonight after work when starting the engine up this frightening warning red light message come up with the three beeps. there wasnt any shape or i couldnt see i just saw red "warning" message.
anyone any idea plz

A red warning would normally be with a symbol either (!) poss brake fluid low, this sometimes comes on if the battery is a bit discharged as the dash loses the signal from the level switch, or ( ) with a coolant temp warning, there was a problem on some cars with the switch in the coolant bottle, my 1.8T did this, mine was a P plate also.if these warnings don't come on whilst driving i would suggest it is something minor.

no its not coming when drivin it once come up when tryin the start up

I drive a 97R 1.8T, it used to do that too, a red light beeps 3 times and flashes on start up. In the manual it says this means theres a fault in the braking system. It never happened whilst driiving and then jus stoped. A little while after i got like a kinda grinding noise when driving from standstill whilst turning. took it to a garage and they said it was the abs pump working and nothing to worry about. both things stoped after a while.
