Erratic temperature display

A3 1.8T 2002
The led temperature display, just above PRND321 leds indicator, (the one when you start your car reads a big OK sign) shows abnormal lecture, it shows too high temperature readings, how can this be fixed?

Hello emalvido,make sure you have coolant returning to the header tank.Looks like the water pump impellor may be starting to play up.The smal pipe at the top of the header tank is the return,if you cant see through the plastic bottle carefully remove the blue header tank cap from cold and run the engine to normal temp and whatch the returning flow rate of the coolant.

that woulkd be the one reading something like this +25C
