Air Con

Hi All,

I recently bought a 2001 A3 1.8 T Sport, which is just sweet.

However, got a slight problem with the air con.

When I switch it on after the engine being turned off for a lengthy time (parked overnight) the air con makes a loud squealing noise for a few seconds!

Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Be great if anyone could help.

Hi had asimilar problem on another car which turned out to be the clutch going on the air con compressor.
It sounded like a fan belt slipping for a few seconds.

The squeeling had gone but its now back again.

Will have to investigate.
