A3 1.8t - No Power When Cold

Sometimes when I start the car from cold, it has no power and feels as if it will cut out when idelling. The engine management light is also on. I took this to my "local audi/vw speciallist" - not main dealer - on approx 5 occasions. The computer showed 3 diff codes relating to "mix too rich" or not rich enough.
The replaced the air mass meter - after 2 weeks same prob.
They replaced "coolent temp sensor" - 2 weeks later same prob and same error codes. I have taken it back since and they say "you should buy a diesel - the turbos are nothing but trouble"
Any ideas beofre I bite the bullet and pay full whack from the main dealer ???

I get something very similar although my engine management light hasn't come on. I've had a new MAF, plugs and coils but it's still there. I wondered if it might be the lambda sensor?

I just joined this site yesterday because i have exactly the same problem. i have added my comments to a new message by Philboy on 13/03/06. I'm close to getting shut of mine unless i can get this sorted. Hopefully someone else might see the new thread and give us some hope, it sounds like a fairly common problem.
