Hello i just bought myself a 2005 A3 FSI 1.6 second hand with 228 miles on the clock it was a unwanted prize.
I was wondering what fuel should i be using in it as i have been told i can use 95 ron and 98 ron.

Please could someone help.

Thanks Gareth

You can use 95 or 98. I've got an A4 2.0 FSi, and to be honest, I cannot tell any difference in performance.

If you thrash it around you may notice, but who does, or can do that nowadays.

The Fsi engines are designed to run on sulphur free fuel, but this is not really available yet in the UK.

Incidentally, do you find your FSi engine "knocky" when starting up from cold?

I know it is diesel engine technology, using petrol as the fuel, but mine sounds like a diesel until warmed up, at which point it smoothes out and sounds like a petrol!
