Squeaky Electric Window Driving Me Mad!

Whenever I actuate the drivers side electric window in my 1997 P 3-Door A3, it makes a very loud (and horrible) squealing. Recently, and intermittently it even gets to 100% closed then automatically reverses by 2-3 inches, as if there is a lot of excessive load on the motor.

The condition of the rubber seal/felt inner isn't perfect, but visibly and to the touch no worse than the passenger side which sounds fine.

How can I make the window glide up and down as soundless as:

a) it used to

the passenger side!!!

Please help, its doing my head in! :wallbash:

first check its not off the runner in any way and if not try winding the window all way down and either put some silicon grease in each corner for the windows edge to rub in or use wahing up liquid should cure it
