I just installed a new Pioneer head unit in my car.
And by the way it does allow for the lid to close over with out any problems. But, my problem is I can't play it with out the car running. In the Bose system, you could just hit power and it would turn on without the key even in the ignition. But, the aftermarket won't. Does anyone know what I need to do, to get my stereo to play without having to have the car running? TT 225 2001 Coupe. |

The only way to get a pioneer to do what you want it to do is to wire up ACC to 12v constant. The ability for the radio to turn on while car is off is a perk of the radio itself.. the only other radio that has this ability that I know of is Blaupunkt. You can turn the radio on even without the key in the ignition....ironically enough, blaunpunkt is a german brand...same as your car. Now, if you do decide to wire up ACC to 12v constant, your radio WILL NOT TURN OFF WITH IGNITION. The only way to turn your radio off is manually turning it off, which is going to suck if your forget...goodbye battery. BTW, I am advanced mecp certified mobile installer, i guarantee the above. Hope i was helpful.
