Exclamation '02 TT will not idle right-Need Help

hey guys! i have an '02 TT 225bhp that will not idle correctly. at an idle the engine revs will drop for a second then rev back up and do this consistantly. a couple of days ago the check engine light came on and the code it was kicking was "burning too rich". i reset the code and it hasn't come back on but the car is getting horrible gas mileage. any thoughts?

Thanks,

Cory

Try disconnecting the air mass meter and start it up, this will put in a set value for fuel trim at idle, if it smooths out then the air mass meter is shot.
