Post TT Concert stero- no display on LCD panel or dash

After having my dash replaced by Audi on my TT (2000) I can not see any stereo information in the appropriate section of the dash i.e CD and track number or radio station. The warning lights such as low fuel all show fine. To top it off after the dash was replaced my Concert stereo display screen has no back light. If you look close enough at the LCD panel on the stereo you can see the radio station name and cd number etc you are listening to. The stereo buttons are lit up though the when you select any of the buttons on the stereo (no 1 -6, TA, RDS etc) they works fine but the red light on the appropriate notch does not light up.

Audi have had a look and say that the stereo needs replacing. If any one can help then I would be greatful. Simple coincidence this happened after the dash was replaced?

This is one of my first post so sorry if this is in the wrong place.

The dash has not been adapted correctly to communicate with the radio, this is a simple adaption and they should have spotted it to be honest.I think the back light problem is unconnected with the dash replacement, if you have your radio code it may be worth removing the fuse for the radio for a while then refitting, it may well reset itself.

Did try removing the fuse however, no joy - is there a minimum time the fuse should be removed for?

Saga continues, have been to another Audi dealer who believes that when my dashpod was replaced the wrong one was put in so it can not communicate with the stereo. Something to do with the dash required cambus (not sure on spelling) settings which is not on my stereo. The original Audi dealer who replaced my dash does not have the initial diagostic paperwork so we don't know if they put the right dash in. According to dealer i'm speaking to now, for the year 2000 there are a few dashes which can be used and the check via the chasis number may not give the right one.

finally all working, original dealer found the old diagnostics log and old part no. ended with an 'A' and new one with a 'C' apparently it was a replacement to earlier model so should not have been a problem. I brought an exchange concert stereo through audi and 2 visits later they got it adapted, all working now.
