as a general rule it's 60k or 5 years...... yes your right it's engine specific, so why give duff information about 'minimum' 80k miles. i have spoken to Audi and yes you got it, it's 60k or 5 years old you should change your cam belt.
im sure colpartington would not be happy if it blew at 70k cause he had listened to your advice..... |

There is no general rule for any Audi cambelt changes, it is recommended that the interval is determined by entering the chassis number into ELSA and producing a maintainance sheet for that vehicle via the live server as sometimes the requirements change. I have offered to look this up for colpartington, as yet he has not responded. I am not in the business of giving "duff information" only to help those who ask a question, I find this quite rude, at the end of the day you make up your own mind.

CALM DOWN CALM DOWN.Ok badger is correct, the interval is dependant on live data from audi elsa workshop schedule and also audi desktop. For some reason vag dont like to commit to a set mileage, however it rarely changes that much and for 1.8t i would go no further than 80,000 miles or 4 years as the 1,8 t is one of the few belts that fail. This is my oppinon having seen 225 tt and s3 fail at 90,000 ish.Its your choice and always where applicable change the tensioner and the water pump.Ok carry on now
